I download an updated version of my app from the internet and use the SET UPDATE FOLDER and RESTART 4D commands. Everything goes well and the updated app opens to the password dialog.
A non-critical issue is that a finder window opens as the process is happening and the content of that window changes once. After the update process is complete I can close the window. I tried LAUNCH EXTERNAL PROCESS(“osascript -e ‘tell application “Finder” to close front window’”) as that first dialog is opening but that has no effect even though that command works when I run it my development environment in a test Method.
Not a big deal but I would like to not see or at least close this window to avoid confusing/troubling the user. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, as an aside, does anyone know how 4D is going to deal with Apple’s forthcoming requirement for “Notarizing” the app on top of signing it and its dmg?
