Hotfix R4?

I don’t see any mention of the hotfix or its release note on the products download page.

Can you clarify?

Hi Jeff,

The only indication on the download page is the updated date, and the release notes are in the middle of the download links:
[]21269060;“Your comment here…”[/]

Here is a direct link to the Release Notes:

I hope that helps,

-Tim

So what is ACI0097439? I don’t see this listed in any set of release notes.

Also, what is this one about:

ACI0097338 4D Server issue when executing a query at the first established connection

It sounds bad…but haven’t noticed anything.

notes.

The release notes mention the bug fix list is here: http://bugs.4d.fr/fixedbugslist?Version=16_R4

Searching that page for “ACI0097439” reveals:
ACI0097439 4D Write Pro: 4D may stop unexpectedly during the purge of pictures in memory.

Also, what is this one about:

What would you like to know?

-Tim

Weird - safari can’t find ‘97439’ in that document, but there it is…

Regarding 97738 - any details to determine its relevance would be great. What kind of query? What does ‘first established connection’ mean? What happens?

It seems to be a crashing bug in 4D Server 32 bit on Windows . It looks like the bug only affects 4D Server 32 bit while 4D Server 64 bit is unaffected by this bug. The workaround until the bug was fixed was to use 4D Server 64 bit instead of 32 bit.

As a reminder, the 32 bit version of 4D Server is not a certified product (it is listed as compatible on the http://download.4d.com/Documents/Products_Documentation/LastVersions/Line_16R4/VIntl/CertifV16_R4_INTL.pdfcertification matrix>) and typically only available via a separate download that is not even listed on the download page.

Are you using the 32 bit version of 4D Server on Windows?

I am unable to edit the message but I wanted to clarify that I am only referring to the WINDOWS version of 4D Server 32 bit in the quote above.

Cool - thanks. That’s great extra information to know. It would be great if there was a way to get this kind of basic information about a bug/fix other than having to ask.

We’re not using the 32-bit version of server here.
