SVG_Define_symbol_from_file

what happened to SVG_Define_symbol_from_file?
Nothing to find in documentation, not in published in component-methods, but in source.

Oh, I had forgotten it. Thanks for the archeology!
Not fully tested…
Have you tried it?
Is this a useful command?

I can’t reach from the component, just found it with http://dddd.mettre.de/wp/from-sourcecode-to-documentation/?forummy documentation> of the source.

The Logo.svg uses outlined-text, not to be dependent on installed fonts and not to mess around with SVG-fonthandling. Outlined-text is nothing I’d like to draw myself.

Sounds exactly what I’m looking for. I want to include an Logo.svg into a bigger SVG-chart.
SVG_New_embedded_image renders a bitmap, which is too pixely. Codec doesn’t accept “svg” - Logo.svg not shown. Checking source, I see that codec actually means extension. Using “.svg” instead does render in 4D, but not on Finder nor Safari – may be a deprecated version of Opera.

Means I need to write my own version of SVG_Define_symbol_from_file, which as is, is heavily dependent on the SVG-component.

Using “.svg” instead does render in 4D, but not on Finder nor Safari …
…and survives converting to png or jpg with 4D code, which is probably all I need.
Didn’t test printing yet.
