SVG_Export_to_XML and Textareas

there seems to be a missing feature as of V15.3/.4
Textareas don’t get exported

This is the code I’m using to export a picture containing the SVG-source to an external SVG-file
<code 4D>
$svgRoot:=SVG_Open_picture ($P_object->)
$svgText:=SVG_Export_to_XML ($svgRoot)
SVG_CLEAR ($svgRoot)
TEXT TO DOCUMENT($path;$svgText;$encoding;Document unchanged)

</code 4D>

marked are the textareas
[]19617243;“Your comment here…”[/]

and this is a picture of the resulting SVG: textareas are missing
[]19617240;“Your comment here…”[/]

What to do? Any workarounds known?

Hi Ortwin,

Where did you display the exported xml ? into a browser ?

If you do : <code 4D>
$svgRoot:=SVG_Open_picture ($P_object->)
//$svgText:=SVG_Export_to_XML ($svgRoot)
DOM EXPORT TO FILE($svgRoot;$path)
SVG_CLEAR ($svgRoot)
//TEXT TO DOCUMENT($path;$svgText;$encoding;Document unchanged)

</code 4D>

Did you get the same result ?

Elles sont bien exportées.
Les textareas sont apparues en SVG 1.2 et la plupart des navigateurs ne les prenne pas en charge.
Je ne connais que 4D qui affiche les textareas.

And https://www.sketchapp.comSketch (45)> doesn’t render too.
Indeed, Sketch is the reference to check against.

Opera version 9 render ‘’

what kind of version is Opera 9?

Loaded yesterday, I only get 46.0.2597.32 which Opera.com defines as

: Opera.com

Opera ist auf dem neuesten Stand
Update-Stream: Stable
Betriebssystem: Mac OS X 10.12.5 64-bit

Nevertheless, 4D renders into png including textarea. Only need to get a better resolution, which is a secondary need as of today.

it’s an old version of opera

testing against an old version makes no sense, or does it?
Current version of Opera does not render SVG-textarea

Perhaps opera dropped the support of textarea , I had the same problem textarea was not rendered on last version. But on opera 9 worked fine
